The Artist

Aloha! My name is Veronica Fay Miller and I live in sometimes sunny Jacksonville, FL.  I've been painting for as long as I can remember.  Being a self-taught artist, I would experiment with colors and media without any reservation as to what is "proper" art.  Cardboard would suit me as much as an expensive canvas.  But through the years I only painted for myself and loved ones.  Never with the purpose of selling.

However, that changed when my Dad decided to add ukuleles to his inventory at our family-owned music store, PIANOVATION.  One style in particular caught my eye... The Fishuku.  As soon as I saw the bright green and blue bodies, I knew they were the perfect canvas!

The inspiration for the designs themselves initially came from the Hawaiian Triggerfish, or Humu Humu Nuku Nuku Apua'a. Which literally means "fish that grunts like a pig."  Regardless of its grunting, the Humu Humu is a dazzling fish.  And I enjoyed drawing inspiration from its many colors and patters.  I hope that you will enjoy playing as much as I do painting!
